Bigs, Littles and friends of the program honored BBBSEC Founder the late Robert F. Moss at a recent Buffalo Bisons game. Our President and CEO David T. Hore and Board Member De Moss, wife of the late Robert F. Moss, accepted a $1500.00 check in Bob’s honor from the Buffalo Bisons. Our guests also enjoyed watching a Big & Little throw out the first pitch on the field!

Everyone Loves the Puerto Rican Day Parade!
In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, a group of Bigs, Littles and staff marched along side of our decorated Ford Friendship Van in the Puerto Rican Day parade. Our marchers handed out lollipops that included our contact information on the stick. It was a terrific parade and we had a wonderful time!

“Dough” Raised for Our Kids!
BBBBSEC was one of fourteen charities that support children to receive a generous donation of $5,000.00 from Pizza Hut’s Raising Dough for Kids Charity. The “dough” was raised in the local Pizza Hut stores through contributions from their customers in change canisters and various other fundraisers throughout the year. The donation we received will be used to continue our successful Site-Based Mentoring Programs that match Big Brother and Big Sister volunteers with children at the Belle Center and Enterprise Charter School.

Women Who Move the City Wednesday- Congrats Sister Mary Augusta Kaiser!
BBBS of Erie County and Media Sponsor Kiss 98.5 & Janet Snyder are excited to celebrate Sister Mary Augusta Kaiser as today’s Women Who Move the City Wednesday Honoree! Sister Mary Augusta Kaiser founded the Teaching and Restoring Youth (TRY) Program, a home for homeless young women ages 16 to 21. These young women have suffered victimization, violence and are at risk for prostitution. TRY provides case management, counseling, health and wellness programs and classes in independent living skills. Each client is provided an individual bedroom and help from staff to return to school or to work on obtaining a GED. BIG News: Name Change & Move for Big Brothers Big Sisters
For Immediate Release Buffalo, N.Y. – The local mentoring agency known as Be-A-Friend Program, Inc. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Erie County for the last 45+ years is growing and has changed its name to reflect the new service area approved by Big Brothers Big Sisters of America (BBBSA). The agency will now be known as Big Brothers Big Sisters of Erie, Niagara and the Southern Tier. BBBSA has designated the Southern Tier service area to include Cattaraugus and Chautauqua counties.
