In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, a group of Bigs, Littles and staff marched along side of our decorated Ford Friendship Van in the Puerto Rican Day parade. Our marchers handed out lollipops that included our contact information on the stick. It was a terrific parade and we had a wonderful time!

January is National Mentoring Month
As part of National Mentoring Month, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Erie County will kick-off an effort on Monday, January 10th to find 50 Guys in 5 Days to sign up as new Big Brother mentors through a promotion with WGR-550 AM and Santora’s Pizza Pub & Grill. WGR-550 morning show personality and Big Brother Jeremy White, in a number of live and taped radio ads from January 10th – January 14th, will encourage male listeners to “join the team” by visiting the Big Brothers Big Sisters website and signing up. 10th Year for the Fore The Children Golf Tournament
A BIG thanks to all who supported our 10th Annual Fore the Children Golf Tournament presented by PCB Piezotronics at Transit Valley Country Club on Monday, August 25th! We raised $60k to match more local kids facing adversity with caring mentors! The day started out rainy but the skies cleared in time for our 12:30 pm start. Attendees enjoyed a wonderful afternoon of golf, contests, food and drinks. A BIG thanks to our specialty sponsors who helped make the event so special! Big Brothers Big Sisters of Erie County is honored to celebrate Danielle Lewis as this week’s featured Women Who Move the City Wednesday (WWMTC) Honoree! Serving her community has been how Danielle has chosen to pay forward the mentorship and support she received while developing as a young person. Danielle recently completed a three-year term on the Compass House Board of Directors, serving as Vice Chair and the Annual Fundraiser Chair. In the latter role, she led the transition from a traditional fundraising dinner event to a weekend brunch with the goal of building a new generation of donors for the organization.
