Spring and Summer in Buffalo mean a lot of things. Sunshine, heatwaves (but maybe a little hail here and there, who knows!), trips to the beach, cook-outs, and of course flip flops!

Another big part of summer in Buffalo is the incredible Farmer’s Markets that spring up all over Western New York! Did you know that there are more than 20 in our area?

There are many reasons to enjoy a morning at the Farmer’s Market with your Little. He or she will get the opportunity to try some of the freshest produce our local farms have to offer, and learn more about where it comes from. Most of the vendors at each market are more than happy to educate their customers (especially kids) about how the produce is grown and what it’s like to work on the farm. The kids can also learn more about how the agriculture business works and about Buffalo’s economy. At many of these, local charitable groups recruit volunteers and teach the public about their services (BBBSEC will be at the Williamsville Farmers Market on Saturday August 31st and at the Bidwell Parkway Farmer’s Market on Saturday September 14th) and acoustic musicians liven up the scene.

Here are the highlights of Farmer’s Markets in Buffalo.
