A BIG Welcome To Summer!

DSC_0823Over 150 guests, including Bigs & Littles, staff & the Board of Directors joined us for our Annual Welcome Summer Picnic at the Harlem Road Community Center.  Guests enjoyed a barbecue dinner, crafts and summer picnic favorites like tug of war and sack races.  In addition to celebrating the start of summer, we recognized our 5 Little Brothers & Sisters who graduated from high school this year and their Bigs who supported them along the way. During this presentation, we also announced some exciting news…The Big Brothers Big Sisters Daemen College Scholarship!  Our very own Big Sister Sandra Looker, a Daemen staff member in financial aid, shared that any Little graduating from high school, that attends Daemen College, will receive a $500.00 scholarship per year while completing their undergraduate studies! We are so proud of all our graduating Littles and truly enjoyed spending time with all of our matches and guests at this annual event. We hope you enjoy the photos!

Bigs and Littles were even able to create beaded friendship bracelets and exchanged them at the end of the…

  • Thank Your Mentor Day

Over 50 Big Brothers and Big Sisters and their Littles celebrated National Thank Your Mentor Day at a dinner, craft and activity night held at the Niagara Frontier American Legion Post. As matches arrived, they had their photos taken and printed. The pictures were then put into frames that our Little Brothers and Sisters created that night as a thank you gift for their mentor. Additionally, our matches enjoyed a terrific dinner by Mr. G’s catering and playing games. Again, a special thanks to all of our Bigs for making a difference and helping the kids in our program reach their full potential!
