It’s time to gear up for All Hallow’s Eve once again! Check out the following kid-friendly events for a Spooktacular Big & Little Halloween!

Pumpkinville

4844 Sugartown Road, Great Valley

Admission is free and includes a petting farm, gem mining, a trip to goat mountain (where you can interact with goats), the children’s Storyland section, a tour of the antique cider mill and more.

For an additional $3.50 each (or $12 for an unlimited wristband), explore a corn maze, hayrides and a cow-themed tractor ride.

Mysterious World of Bats

Dudley Branch Library, 2010 South Park Ave.

Come dressed for a costume party and stay to see live bats from around the world. A local bat expert will introduce the bats and speak about the many ways bats benefit the environment.

When: Oct. 24. Costume party begins at 5:30 p.m., bat presentation starts at 6:30.

Sweet Charlottes

This children’s play place and activity center will celebrate its first anniversary with a free Autumn Fest. Kids can have their faces painted, make crafts, play games, paint a pumpkin and enjoy treats and candy – all of it for free.

Halloween Happenings

Aquarium of Niagara, 701 Whirlpool St., Niagara Falls

Children dressed as their favorite sea creature get free admission to the aquarium and will enjoy special activities and treats at the aquarium’s Halloween costume party.

Orchard Park Halloween Party

Yates Park off South Buffalo Street, Orchard Park

Costumed kids are invited to march from Orchard Park Middle School, 60 S. Lincoln Drive to Green Lake at Yates Park. Joining the parade will be a fire truck, police cars and hay wagon.

At Yates Park, take a hayride, navigate a hay maze, paint a pumpkin, roast marshmallows and walk through a haunted house. There will also be costume and pumpkin-carving contests. Everything is free except food and drinks, which will be available for purchase.

Trunk or Treat

Immanuel Lutheran Church, 107 Scott St., Tonawanda.

Go trick-or-treating from one decorated car trunk to another in the church parking lot. Children can watch Halloween movies, make paper crafts, decorate pumpkins and receive a treat bag. Free cider, doughnuts and homemade baked goods will be served. Wholesome costumes are encouraged. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Boo-levard of Fun

Jump into a haunted bounce house, make crafts, play carnival games and enjoy balloon animals, face painting, scary stories and live entertainment from Charlie and the Checkers. The free program is presented by the Town of Amherst Youth and Recreation Department.

Parents can bring costumed kids younger than 10 to participating stores to collect free treats. Participating businesses will have a Safe Trick-or-Treat poster in their windows that says, “Get your treats here.”
