Women Who Move The City Awardees Announced

On Thursday, April 10th, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Erie County (BBBSEC) will host “Women Who Move the City” at Pearl @ The Webb.  This new fundraising event will celebrate BBBSEC’s female volunteers, as well as, women who volunteer throughout WNY. Five local women, selected through a nomination process, will be honored during the evening for their outstanding commitment to our community.

 The 2014 Women Who Move the City awardees to be recognized at the April 10th event are:

  • Mary Lynn Barnhard– Wheels with Wings Foundation
  • Lindsay Brick-Junior League of Buffalo, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of WNY, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Ronald McDonald House Charities of WNY
  • Sheila Figel- Big Brothers Big Sisters of Erie County, Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus Women’s Association
  • Kathleen Maxian- Western New York Ovarian Cancer Project
  • Nadia Moore– Amateur Athletic Union, Delevan Grider Moselle Community Center, Puerto Rican Grease Pole Festical, Olivencia Community Center, Lady Trendsetter Motorcycle Club

The April 10th event will take place from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm at Pearl @ The Webb (76 Pearl St. Buffalo).  Guests will enjoy hors d’oeuvres, cocktails, a one of a kind shopping experience, demonstrations and the opportunity to network with people who make our community thrive.  Tickets for Women Who Move the City are $40 in advance ($50 at the door) Click To Purchase.

    Our 2nd Women Who Move the City event on April 30th at Hotel Lafayette from 5:30pm – 8:30 pm will recognize our female volunteers, as well as women who volunteer throughout the Western New York Area. This is a night to celebrate women who are positively impacting the lives of others and making a difference in our community. Attendees will also enjoy one of a kind shopping experience, demonstrations and food tastings from local businesses.   • Ford Friendship for BBBSEC Friendships!

    BBBSEC received a donation of a Ford Flex through the Friendship Express program provided by the Ford Dealers of WNY. The vehicle will be used to transport groups of boys in our Partners for Youth program to different activities and events. Additionally, we will use it for small group outings for matches in our Site-Based and Community-Based programs. Thank you to the Ford Dealers of WNY for helping us broaden the horizons of our kids with a new set of wheels!
