Summer with Young Audiences of Western New York

Check out the Artvoice 2013 Summer Guide. It’s full of fun, free & low cost activities to do this summer, some of which are great for kids! Maybe your Little loves to garden and would be thrilled to check out a Garden Walk. Or maybe he or she is into film and would appreciate Squeaky Wheel’s Outdoor Animation Festival on August 21st. Alden’s Winterfest is taking place Friday, January 31st- Saturday, February 1st. Activities include a hockey shootout, market place, dog sled exhibitions, bon fire, pancake breakfast and ice skating!   See more information at aldenwinterfest.com

You and your Little can enjoy the relaxing atmosphere of Canalside while playing a game. Old fashioned board games are available, as well as new ones. The best part is, you can rent them for free! You just need proper identification to sign the games out. Look for the Treehouse kiosk by the water! Presented by Treehouse Toy Store on Elmwood. The kiosk is open during the summer months.    

Get out and Play at Family Days at the Healthy Zone Fieldhouse We are pleased to offer a unique opportunity to participate in an afternoon filled with fun and healthy activities at the home of the Buffalo Bills. We’ll have something fun for all ages, so bring the kids! There are lots of interactive games to play and drills to run on the turf. Have your picture taken with the one and only Billy Buffalo. The Foundry is a studio/gallery space for local artisans, started by Net+Positive, a Foundation with the mission of activating models of neighborhood prosperity through innovations in housing, entrepreneurship and the environment. On the second Saturday of each month, The Foundry hosts an evening of arts and music, with different acts featured each time. Fresh Produce is always on sale from local farms, too! It’s a great way to support local artists and musicians with your Little! The Foundry also hosts several workshops that might be of interest to you and your Little. Buffalo Urban Outdoor Education Foundation presents a two-hour exploration sail on Lake Erie aboard the Spirit of Buffalo.
