A great opportunity to learn more about the impact of our organization in the Buffalo community. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Erie County and Media Sponsor Kiss 98.5 are excited to celebrate Liz Callahan as our first 2016 Women Who Move the City Wednesday Honoree! Liz currently serves on the Board of Directors for Journey’s End Refugee Services and WNY STEM Hub. She is on the communications committee for the WNY Women’s Foundation and the event committee for the South Buffalo Community Table’s annual fundraiser and for Startup Grind. Zandra is a 17-year old entrepreneur who started her creative journey at the age of 9 mixing up lip balm in her home kitchen. She joined the Kids Biz Small Business Development Center at Buffalo State College and the rest is history. Today her Buffalo based company, Zandra Beauty, works out of a compliant production and distribution facility and sells her impressive line of products online and in retail locations. TransitowneUSA- A Little Warmth Makes a Big Difference.
Just in time for the winter weather, TransitowneUSA representatives presented warm winter hats, gloves and scarves to the children involved in BBBSEC at a pancake breakfast with their mentors on Saturday,December 10th at the Niagara Frontier American Legion Post. TransitowneUSA collected the winter accessories during their “A Little Warmth Makes a BIG Difference” campaign held at all of their locations in November. TransitowneUSA customers received a gift certificate for a free oil change for bringing in a donation to benefit a child in BBBSEC. In addition to enjoying a delicious breakfast and receiving the winter accessories, each child also made a snowman measuring stick craft to take home and measure the latest snowfall!
