Women Who Move the City Wednesday-Congrats Alex Dockstader

Alexandra Dockstader 0001 Email-1Big Brothers Big Sisters of Erie County and Media Sponsor, Kiss 98.5 are excited to honor Alex Dockstader as this week’s Women Who Move the City Wednesday Honoree!

Alex Dockstader, a Microsoft Channel Specialist at Ingram Micro Inc., exemplifies selflessness and has a strong passion for encouraging others. Weekly she shares her time as a Special Olympics Swim Coach, helping kids improve their swimming skills but also their confidence, drive, and passion. Whether it’s staying after practice to review what was taught that day or providing reassurance and encouragement, Alex is dedicated to her swimmers. It’s this commitment that gives these amazing athletes the confidence to succeed to the best of their abilities and like Alex, a former collegiate swimmer, a love for the sport!

In addition to her weekly commitment to Special Olympics, Alex also helped to lead a new project in 2014 for Susan G Komen of WNY. “Klub Komen” was created to involve children at the annual race to cheer on participants and survivors. Alex took on the challenge, to recruit children and families to become involved, with enthusiasm. Her hard work and dedication to making Klub Komen a success helped to inspire a new generation to make a difference for an amazing cause and race day extra special for all participants! Alex accomplished all of this while continuing her commitment as an active member of the Komen Teams Committee!

Alex is also passionate about making WNY a great place to live and work. She serves on the Emerging Business Leaders Advisory Board, a group developed by the Amherst Chamber of Commerce that focuses on developing the next generation of leaders in Western New York. As the Membership Chair, Alex actively encourages young area professionals to become involved.

Alex has a Bachelor’s from SUNY Geneseo and is currently working on a Master’s in Business Administration from Franklin Pierce University. She resides in North Tonawanda with her husband, Jeremy Schwob, and their dog, Kevyn. When not busy volunteering, Alex is also an avid runner and marathon qualifier. She will be running in the Boston Marathon the week before she receives her Women Who Move the City honor! We wish her the best of luck!
