Women Who Move The City Wednesday- Congrats Cindi McEachon

cindi_outside_2Big Brothers Big Sisters of Erie County and Media Sponsor, Kiss 98.5 are excited to honor Cindi McEachon as this week’s Women Who Move the City Wednesday Honoree!

Cindi’s nomination for the Women Who Move the City award clearly demonstrated her passion and dedication to our community is contagious and that she has an innate ability to inspire those around her to not only give back but also, be better versions of themselves. Over the years, Cindi’s focused her volunteer efforts toward improving the lives of and empowering young girls throughout Western New York. Through her service as a Board Member for Homespace LLC, which provides a safe and nurturing transitional living environment with supportive services for single parent families that prepares them to achieve and maintain their independence, Cindi gives her time both in and out of the boardroom. She uses her personal journey as a teen mother to encourage single, young mothers to continue to strive for success. Cindi facilitates groups with the women at the residences; sharing her story and empowering them to keep pushing forward to achieve their personal and educational goals. She is also a member of the committee that plans all of the events for the residents to engage and connect with each other and within the community.

In addition to her commitment to Homespace, Cindi is also very active with the Junior League of Buffalo. She volunteers in the Life Coach program, with the Future Blooms & Transforming Spaces Project, as well as participates in community service projects benefitting a variety of organizations in WNY. Additionally, Cindi is in her second season volunteering her time as a Girls on the Run coach at a local, inner-city school. This program uses running to inspire and motivate girls, encourage lifelong health and fitness and build confidence through accomplishment. Cindi, who completed her 9th marathon in 2014, brings passion and commitment to helping the girls she coaches and mentors to achieve their personal best.

In her professional life, Cindi is the Executive Director of PeaceprintsTM of WNY; an organization dedicated to providing exceptional reentry services to individuals rebuilding their lives. She also serves on the Erie County Reentry Task Force, a consortium of providers who come together to advocate and invoke community change for reentry clients.

Cindi has a Bachelor’s in Health & Human Services from the University of Buffalo and a MBA from Medaille College. Born and raised in Lockport, Cindi makes Buffalo her home with her daughters, Emilee and Lily.
