Currently, there are more than 120 children waiting to be matched with a mentor. To bring attention to their stories and inspire volunteers, we’re launching our new #TheBIGWait social media campaign. Every Wednesday, we’ll call on our supporters to help by highlighting the urgent need for mentors in specific areas.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Erie County is honored to celebrate Gwendolyn Bork as this week’s featured Women Who Move the City Wednesday (WWMTC) Honoree! A NYS Board Certified Addiction Recovery Coach and Trainer, Gwendolyn is the Vice President of In His Name Outreach (IHNO); a non-profit, faith-based resource center dedicated to building and restoring the spiritual, emotional and physical health of our community. The organization won Best in Business for the Town of Cheektowaga in the Counseling/Coaching Category in 2015. A BIG Boat Cruise
A group of matches enjoyed a beautiful summer day aboard the Grand Lady docked at the Holiday Inn in Grand Island! The 2-hour cruise included points of interest on the Buffalo shoreline and interesting facts about Buffalo’s waterways. For many of the kids this was their first time on a boat. A special thanks to the Holiday Inn-Grand Island for generously donating the delicious lunch served while we were aboard!
