Maggie SheaBBBS of Erie County and Media Sponsor Kiss 98.5 & Janet Snyder are excited to celebrate Maggie Shea as today’s Women Who Move the City Wednesday Honoree!

Maggie is an integral part of the Buffalo community and volunteers her free time to causes close to her heart. She serves on the Amherst Chamber of Commerce’s Emerging Business Leaders (EBL) Board of Directors, as Technology Chair for the Accounting & Financial Women’s Alliance Board of Directors, and as Treasurer for both the Parkside Community Association and Buffalo Niagara Human Resources Association Board of Directors. Maggie is also an Ambassador for Child & Family Services, member of the WNY HR Young Professionals and serves on the Saturn Club Membership Committee.

Maggie graduated from Northeastern University in Boston, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and moved back to Buffalo in 2008, where she was born and raised.  She spent over 3 years in Public Accounting, where she earned her CPA, and then switched her career into Staffing in 2011.  In 2015, she started her own Staffing Firm, StaffBuffalo, LLC, specializing in executive, permanent, and temporary placements.

In addition to supporting the event and activities of the Boards and Committees Maggie is involved with, her team at StaffBuffalo take pride in volunteering for events and throughout the year!  They have participated in Ronald McDonald House Charities “Cooks for Kids” and 5K Race, volunteered at the annual NextGen (formerly YCPAs of the NYSSCPAs) Golf Outing, the Taste of Buffalo and at Evergreen Health Services in preparation for Buffalo Pride Week and the Gay 5K Race. The StaffBuffalo team also volunteers for the Finance Team at the Promise Shop for the Susan G. Komen WNY Race for a Cure WNY, plants trees in the community through Re-Tree WNY, and donates blood and platelets for Roswell Park.

If Maggie does not seem busy enough, she also donates her hair bi-annually to Locks for Love, regularly sits on panels relating to staffing and employment, and is the Treasurer for Amber Small for Senate (2015 Women Who Move the City Honoree) in the 60th District.

Maggie is extremely grateful for the 2016 Women Who Move the City honor and committed to volunteering throughout Buffalo and the surrounding areas!     “Spring It On” is Buffalo Niagara’s Day of Giving, powered by United Way. This 24-hour online fundraising event, held on Friday, March 1, 2013, encourages individuals in the community to make a one-time, secure, online donation to the local not-for-profit agency of their choice. United Way is implementing this event in the Buffalo Niagara region in order to generate even more resources for nonprofits apart from the annual United Way campaign. You can help us raise the funds necessary to move 200 children from our waiting list to be matched with a Big Brother or Big Sister.     Women Who Move the City Wednesday-Congrats Susan Gastle!

    Big Brothers Big Sisters of Erie County is honored to celebrate Susan Gastle as this week’s featured Women Who Move the City Wednesday (WWMTC) Honoree!  This summer, Susan will be celebrating 10 years of friendship with her Little Brother, Josh, through Big Brothers Big Sisters of Erie County. Susan’s role as a Big Sister is unique since typically BBBSEC matches Big Sisters with Little Sisters. However, due to a shortage of Big Brothers, boys under the age of 10 can be matched with a Big Sister. Susan gladly took on this role and has been an amazing Big Sister to Josh, who was just 6 years old when they met. Over the years, they have enjoyed trying new foods, attended numerous local events and participated in agency sponsored…
