Each child was able to create a bear of their very own with their Big Brother or Big Sister looking on! Big Brothers Big Sisters of Erie County is honored to celebrate Gwendolyn Bork as this week’s featured Women Who Move the City Wednesday (WWMTC) Honoree! A NYS Board Certified Addiction Recovery Coach and Trainer, Gwendolyn is the Vice President of In His Name Outreach (IHNO); a non-profit, faith-based resource center dedicated to building and restoring the spiritual, emotional and physical health of our community. The organization won Best in Business for the Town of Cheektowaga in the Counseling/Coaching Category in 2015. Throughout the year, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Erie County (BBBSEC) sees evidence of the positive impact our mentors have on their Littles. With the holidays upon us, there are even more opportunities for our Bigs and Littles to give back together as a team. This year, one match in particular really exhibited the holiday spirit along with precisely what BBBSEC hopes to achieve: Little Brothers and Little Sisters that “pay it forward” and give back to the community themselves. Lasting Legacy of Friendship Big Sister Continues to Support Agency After Passing Big Brothers Big Sisters of Erie, Niagara and the Southern Tier recently celebrated a thoughtful legacy gift made by long-time Big Sister, Janet McMahon, who recently passed away. Janet made one more gift to the Big Brothers Big Sisters program to honor her lifetime commitment to helping children reach their full potential. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Erie County is honored to celebrate Raziya Hill as this week’s Women Who Move the City Wednesday (WWMTC) Honoree! A native of Buffalo, Raziya is passionate about alleviating financial hardships experienced by families when needing to provide diaper and wipes on a consistent basis. To address this need, she is the Founder and Executive Director of Every Bottom Covered (EBC), a diaper bank that operates out of the Delavan Grider Community Center. EBC provides diapers and wipes on a monthly basis at no cost to low-income families in the Western New York area.
