Women Who Move the City Wednesday- Congrats Liz Callahan!
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Erie County and Media Sponsor Kiss 98.5 are excited to celebrate Liz Callahan as our first 2016 Women Who Move the City Wednesday Honoree! Liz currently serves on the Board of Directors for Journey’s End Refugee Services and WNY STEM Hub. She is on the communications committee for the WNY Women’s Foundation and the event committee for the South Buffalo Community Table’s annual fundraiser and for Startup Grind. Ryan Taughrin – Defender of Potential Ryan Taughrin is the Assistant Director of Graduate Enrollment at the University at Buffalo’s College of Arts and Sciences. As a first-generation student who was raised by a single mom, and later adopted by loving parents of his best friend, Ryan tries to live every day working to pay it forward. From mentoring prospective undergraduate and graduate students, serving as a mentor in Big Brothers Big Sisters, to volunteering across Western New York with various non-profits, Ryan’s volunteering and mentoring mantra focuses on servant leadership and listening, more than speaking, whenever possible. Women Who Move the City Wednesday- Congrats Raziya Hill!
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Erie County is honored to celebrate Raziya Hill as this week’s Women Who Move the City Wednesday (WWMTC) Honoree! A native of Buffalo, Raziya is passionate about alleviating financial hardships experienced by families when needing to provide diaper and wipes on a consistent basis. To address this need, she is the Founder and Executive Director of Every Bottom Covered (EBC), a diaper bank that operates out of the Delavan Grider Community Center. EBC provides diapers and wipes on a monthly basis at no cost to low-income families in the Western New York area. Women Who Move The City Awardees Announced
On Thursday, April 10th, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Erie County (BBBSEC) will host “Women Who Move the City” at Pearl @ The Webb. This new fundraising event will celebrate BBBSEC’s female volunteers, as well as, women who volunteer throughout WNY. Five local women, selected through a nomination process, will be honored during the evening for their outstanding commitment to our community.
