“FORE the Children Golf Tournament” Raises Close to $50k for BBBS

We are thrilled to share the success of our annual “FORE the Children Golf Tournament” held on Monday, July 29th, 2024, at the beautiful Brookfield Country Club. This year’s event was a resounding success, thanks to the incredible support from our community, sponsors, and tournament participants.

With perfect weather and a stunning course, 110 enthusiastic golfers came together to enjoy a day of competitive fun and philanthropy. We are proud to announce that, through the generosity of our supporters, we raised close to $50,000. These funds will go directly towards providing mentorship opportunities for the many deserving children in our program.

Our sincere gratitude goes out to our corporate sponsors, whose contributions were instrumental in making this event a success:

We are also deeply grateful to all the participating corporate foursomes, individual golfers, Brookfield Country Club, event volunteers, and all other supporters who joined us for this special fundraising event. Your dedication and generosity help us continue our mission of creating and supporting one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the potential of youth in our community.

A highlight of the day was awarding the prestigious Hedwig “De” Moss Leadership Award to Lawley. This honor recognizes the organization’s unwavering dedication to creating meaningful mentorship opportunities for children in our community. We commend Lawley Insurance for their commitment and support to BBBS of Erie, Niagara and the Southern Tier.

Thank you once again to everyone who made this day possible. Your contributions ensure that we can continue to make a difference in the lives of many children. We look forward to seeing you all again at next year’s tournament!

On Wednesday, August 15th employees from Ernst & Young joined BBBSEC and volunteered as a “Big for a Day”. Each employee was paired up with one child (their “Little”) who is currently enrolled with BBBSEC and waiting for their own Big Brother or Big Sister. Throughout the morning, each match played Beach Bingo, Shoe Scramble, participated in a balloon race and spent their time enjoying the nice weather and each other’s company. Bigs and Littles were even able to create beaded friendship bracelets and exchanged them at the end of the…
