On Saturday, November 16th, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Erie, Niagara & The Southern Tier hosted our 2024 Gala Celebration at the stunning Powerhouse by The Rich Entertainment Group, a new and vibrant venue that set the tone for an unforgettable evening. Together, we raised over $170,000 through the incredible generosity of our attendees, sponsors, and donors. These funds will help us continue to ignite potential in children across our community through life-changing mentorship.
The event was a celebration of the individuals and organizations who make our mission possible. This year’s honorees exemplify the spirit of mentorship and the power of community:
Honoring Outstanding Supporters:
- Dr. Christine Farrow was awarded the 13th Annual Robert F. Moss Distinguished Service Award. A former Little Sister, Big Sister, Board Member, and outgoing Board President, Dr. Farrow’s journey through Big Brothers Big Sisters is a testament to the lasting impact of mentorship. Her unwavering dedication to our mission has helped transform countless lives in the Western New York area.
- Chiampou, Travis, Besaw & Kershner (CTBK) received the 12th Annual Stephen C. Moss Corporate Citizenship Award. For more than two decades, CTBK has been a steadfast supporter, contributing over $65,000 and encouraging their team to champion our cause. Partner Scott Sutherland graciously accepted this honor on behalf of the firm, reflecting their deep commitment to our organization and community.
- Big Sister Elizabeth Burakowski and Big Sister Candice Miller were each the recipients of the Thomas Hore and Josephine Santoro Hore Big of the Year Award. Their extraordinary dedication to their Littles is a shining example of the difference mentorship can make. Check out the BOTY videos for Elizabeth and Candice!
A Night to Remember
The evening featured both silent and live auctions, as well as a Fund-a-Match donation ask, and brought together hundreds of passionate Big Brothers Big Sisters supporters. From corporate sponsorships to ticket sales, every contribution helped us surpass expectations and make this year’s gala a tremendous success. We extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who made the 2024 BBBS Gala possible. To our sponsors, donors, attendees, and volunteers – thank you for your generosity and belief in the power of mentorship.
Looking Ahead
With the funds raised at the Gala, we are ready to continue making a meaningful impact in the lives of children across Erie, Niagara, and the Southern Tier. Your support ensures we can pair more Littles with Bigs who will guide, encourage, and empower them to reach their full potential. If you did not get a chance to donate and would like to do so, you can always go to our Givesmart page to do so.
We can’t wait to celebrate with you again next year and continue this vital work together. Thank you for being part of our mission to ignite potential and change lives!
