Big Brothers Big Sisters of Erie, Niagara and the Southern Tier (BBBS) is proud to announce its 2025 Board of Directors, including the appointment of Tim Silverstein as Board President for a one-year term, effective January 1, 2025. BBBS is a trusted champion for youth, harnessing the transformative power of mentorship to change lives and communities.

As Board President, Tim, along with the members of the Board of Directors, will provide governance and strategic leadership to continue advancing BBBS’ long-standing mission that supports one-to-one mentoring to help youth develop positive relationships, avoid risky behaviors and achieve educational success. Tim currently serves as Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer at National Fuel Gas Company and provides oversight of the Company’s accounting, tax and finance departments. As an Alumni Big Brother, he has been volunteering his time for more than 8 years. Tim’s commitment to BBBS, as well as being a father of 3 children, provides hands-on expertise and knowledge as to how to make a difference with today’s youth and is highly valued in advancing the mission of BBBS.

“For nearly a decade, I have watched as well as participated in the day-to-day impact of this organization’s thoughtful mission,” said Tim. “I look forward to working with my fellow board members to use our collective passion, knowledge, and resources to make a difference in our community. There is no better way to make a lasting impact than focusing on today’s youth, one child at a time, to enhance their childhood experience and provide solid examples and resources. By working closely with the Board, my intention is to utilize their leadership to secure financial support and recruit volunteer mentors to make an even greater impression in the lives of more children at a time when they need it most.”
