January is National Mentoring Month—a time to celebrate the transformative power of mentorship and inspire action. Help us address the urgent need for Bigs in our community.
Currently, there are more than 120 children waiting to be matched with a mentor. To bring attention to their stories and inspire volunteers, we’re launching our new #TheBIGWait social media campaign. Every Wednesday, we’ll call on our supporters to help by highlighting the urgent need for mentors in specific areas.
We are thrilled to share the success of our annual “FORE the Children Golf Tournament” held on Monday, July 29th, 2024, at the beautiful Brookfield Country Club. This year’s event was a resounding success, thanks to the incredible support from our community, sponsors, and tournament participants.
Once a Little Sister, Hazel’s experience with her Big Sister inspired her to give back and become a Big Sister herself.
In 2021, BBBS will celebrate 50 years of providing one-to-one mentoring to a total of over 12,500 children facing adversity in the community.
As leaders who are committed to equity and justice, as mission-focused organizations who are stewards of the public trust, and as a nonprofit sector with far-reaching impact on the national economy, the undersigned are committed to advancing racial justice and equity in all areas of civic and community life.
With this loss of funding and a shortage of potential volunteers, there are close to 160 local children who are waiting to be matched with a mentor, a Big Brother, or a Big Sister.
Unacceptable acts of violence like we have witnessed with Mr. George Floyd and current outbreaks makes our mission more important than ever.
