We are currently looking to grow our team and have positions available in our Program Department. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree with at least one year of relevant experience; Associate degree with at least 4 years of relevant experience; or High School diploma with at least 8 years of relevant experience;
  • Commitment to advancing the lives of children and young adults;

Salary: $37,470 – $40,560 per year

Community Relations Coordinator

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Erie, Niagara, and the Southern Tier is hiring a
Community Relations Coordinator to support the organization’s recruitment of volunteers and participants efforts. The Community Relations Coordinator is responsible for implementing recruitment and community awareness outreach and assisting in engagement opportunities through marketing, social media, and other mediums.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (required)
  • 2 years of applicable experience is preferred, a minimum of 1 year is required.
  • Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build & maintain relationships with corporate sponsors and partners.
  • Familiarity with social media and online content management systems.

Development Coordinator

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Erie, Niagara, and the Southern Tier is hiring a Development Coordinator to support the organization’s fundraising, stewardship, and engagement efforts. As the Development Coordinator you manage the logistics of two major fundraising events; communicate with sponsors and assist in the cultivation of donors. This position will also assist in the development of internal and external communications including the organization’s social media e-newsletter, website, and annual report.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (required)
  • 1-2 years of experience in an administration or development support role
  • Knowledge and Demonstrated Success with Fundraising Event Management and other
    Fundraising Strategies.
  • Experience Creating and Maintaining Community and/or Corporate Partnerships
  • Experience with the creation of marketing and communications materials, including for use on social media.

Case Manager

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Erie, Niagara & The Southern Tier currently has a Case Manager position available in our Program Department. This position offers an opportunity to work with children, families, volunteers and partners in the community.

Responsibilities

The Case Manager is responsible for providing support to children, parent/guardians and volunteers in our mentoring programs, including:

  • Enrolling children
  • Conducting training for families and volunteers
  • Creating mentoring relationships and supporting them through personal interactions and home visits

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (required)
  • Degrees in Criminal Justice, Sociology, Social Work, Education, Psychology and other Human Services fields will be given strong consideration
  • Recent graduates are encouraged to apply
  • Experience working with children and families (preferred)
  • A commitment to advancing the lives of children and young adults
  • A valid driver’s license and personal transportation

This position is full-time, Monday through Friday, with both daytime and evening hours.

The anticipated salary range is $31,200 to $35,360.

Human Resources & Operations Manager

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Erie, Niagara & The Southern Tier currently has a Human Resources & Operations Manager position available in our Admin Department. This position supports the Big Brothers Big Sister’s mission by ensuring that all operations run well and that the organizations policies and procedures follow best practices and all applicable laws and standards.

Responsibilities

The Human Resources & Operations Manager plays a vital role in ensuring that BBBS staff are supported while overseeing organizational operations, human resources and internal procedures. This includes:

  • Management of staff and/or vendors that provides technology support including the maintenance and
    support of agency’s computer network, phone system and printers/copiers, procurement of agency
    technology and the technological training, orientation and updating of equipment assigned to staff members.
  • Overseeing the onboarding and orientation of all new staff
  • Ensuring compliance with BBBSA and Local Standards; Local State & Federal Laws; Agency Procedures; and Applicable Funding Source Requirements across the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, human resources or a related field
  • Graduate level degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years in a related field
  • Able to practice active and attentive listening skills to
    verify understanding; adapt communication content
    and delivery to individual needs
  • Able to consider both the short and long term impact of
    decisions; plan for how the consequences of decisions
    affect the team
  • Able to create and execute a plan of action to meet
    targets

Director of Programs

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Erie, Niagara & The Southern Tier currently has a Director of Programs position available in our Program Department. This position has an essential role within BBBSENST.

Responsibilities

The Director of Programs position involves supervision of a large staff and plays a critical role in decisions made not only within the Program Department, but also for the agency in general. This includes:

  • Supervision of Community Based, Site Based, Group Mentoring Staff and Enrollment Staff
  • Oversee the volunteer enrollment process through volunteer approval and applicant eligibility
  • Coordinate programming to meet all goals related to quality metrics and grant requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in social work, human services or a related field
  • Graduate level degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years in a related field with supervisory experience
  • Professional representation in community for recruitment, partnerships and child safety
  • A demonstrated ability to develop a rapport through interpersonal skills with individuals from diverse backgrounds including staff, children, guardians, peers, volunteers and other service providers.
  • Ability to successfully manage staff.

Mentor Advocate (MA)

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Erie, Niagara & The Southern Tier currently has a Part-Time Mentor Advocate position available in our Program Department. This position offers an opportunity to work with children, families, volunteers and partners in the community.

Responsibilities

A Mentor Advocate is responsible for providing direct mentoring services and case management to youth through one-on-one and small group interactions. This includes:

  • Assist the Group Mentoring Supervisor in the recruitment and enrollment of clients
  • Consulting with parents/guardians of all youth clients
  • Creation of individual service plans for clients and adjustment of goals as necessary

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree or Equivalent Experience required
  • Preferred degrees include Human Service fields or Education
  • 1 year experience working directly with youth in a community setting (preferred)
  • Ability to assess youth’s changing needs and adjust service plans to assist youth in achieving
    goals
  • Applicants must have a clean Driver’s License and personal transportation.

This position is part-time, Monday through Friday, with both daytime and evening hours.
