Chief Executive Officer

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Erie, Niagara & The Southern Tier is seeking a mission-driven CEO to lead the organization into its next chapter of growth and community impact. This role is responsible for strategic vision, organizational culture, financial health, and partnership development to ensure youth across our region have access to life-changing mentoring relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advance a clear strategic direction that strengthens impact, sustainability, and alignment to mission outcomes for youth.
  • Cultivate donor, funder, and partner relationships; serve as the organization’s lead fundraiser and ambassador.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, values-driven culture that supports engagement and development of staff and volunteers.
  • Oversee financial stewardship and operational effectiveness, working with outsourced finance, HR, and communications experts.
  • Partner with the Board of Directors to maintain strong governance and strategic alignment.

Qualifications

  • 5–7+ years of progressive leadership experience in nonprofit, education, business, or community-focused environments.
  • Demonstrated success in organization-wide strategy, fund development, and financial management.
  • Skilled relationship builder with experience engaging donors, stakeholders, and external partners.
  • Strong people-leadership capability with a commitment to equity, accountability, and mission-aligned culture.
  • Excellent communication, presence, and credibility as the face of the organization.

The salary range for this position is $120,000 – $150,000, commensurate with experience. A comprehensive benefits package with also be provided.

Case Manager

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Erie, Niagara & The Southern Tier currently has a Case Manager position available in our Program Department. This position offers an opportunity to work with children, families, volunteers and partners in the community.

Responsibilities

The Case Manager is responsible for providing support to children, parent/guardians and volunteers in our Community Based Mentoring program, including:

  • Enrolling children
  • Conducting training for families and volunteers
  • Creating mentoring relationships and supporting them through personal interactions and home visits

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred; High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
  • Experience working with children and families (preferred)
  • A commitment to advancing the lives of children and young adults
  • A valid driver’s license and personal transportation
  • Recent graduates are encouraged to apply!

This position is full-time, Monday through Friday, with both daytime and evening hours.

Our organization values work-life balance and offers a robust PTO policy; the opportunity to work remotely for a portion of your week; as well as the ability to create a work schedule that allows for a 2.5 day weekend.  All positions include mileage reimbursement and a benefit package.

Compensation is commensurate with experience.

Hourly Pay Rate $19 – $20.50 per hour

Site Coordinator

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Erie, Niagara & The Southern Tier currently has a Site Coordinator position available in our Program Department. This position offers an opportunity to work with children, families, volunteers and partners in the community.

Job Overview

Our Site Coordinator position involves creating and supporting mentoring relationships between high school students and their younger peers in local school districts. Our Site Coordinator also provides case management services to the children and their families when necessary. The program occurs during after-school hours, where mentors and mentees participate in activities to encourage the development of the mentoring relationship and help develop their educational and life skills.

The Site Coordinator is responsible for planning, implementing, and supervising these activities and acts as an ambassador between the organization and the partner districts, spending a significant amount of their workday in the schools.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
  • Experience working with children
  • A commitment to advancing the lives of children and young adults
  • A valid driver’s license and personal transportation
  • Recent graduates are encouraged to apply!
