The Foundry is a studio/gallery space for local artisans, started by Net+Positive, a Foundation with the mission of activating models of neighborhood prosperity through innovations in housing, entrepreneurship and the environment. On the second Saturday of each month, The Foundry hosts an evening of arts and music, with different acts featured each time. Fresh Produce is always on sale from local farms, too! It’s a great way to support local artists and musicians with your Little! The Foundry also hosts several workshops that might be of interest to you and your Little. Times Beach Nature Preserve/ Wilkerson Park Wilkerson Park is probably Buffalo’s newest and best kept secret (for now). Located adjacent to the Coast Guard station on Fuhrman Blvd, Times Beach Nature Preserve features a small beach with a well kept nature preserve to the right, and beautiful Wilkerson Park to the left with a double slide, kinetic sculptures against a breathtaking view of Lake Erie, that you can get to on top of a hill with a spiral path. Kids enjoy taking their bikes up to the top of the hill and spiraling down. Also, this park is one of the stops for the Queen City Ferry! Young Audiences of Western New York will once again be hosting regular summer shows and activities at Canalside and Old Falls again this summer! Every Wednesday 11am and 12pm at Canalside July 2nd through August 27th (44 Prime Street Buffalo, NY 14202) Every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday 12pm and 1pm July 2nd-August 23rd (Old Falls Street Niagara Falls 14303) Dynamic and educational summer experiences that explore Western New York’s history with local artists in dance, spoken word, music, theatre, and visual arts. You just need proper identification to sign the games out. Look for the Treehouse kiosk by the water! Presented by Treehouse Toy Store on Elmwood. The kiosk is open during the summer months.
