The storefront name, The Perfect Gift, was inspired by the Bible verse James 1:17 – “Every good and perfect gift comes from above.” Deb considers it a privilege to make a difference and that there is a purpose in her store that goes well beyond beautiful things.   • Women Who Move the City Wednesday- Congrats Carmaletta Zandi!

    BBBS of Erie County and Media Sponsor Kiss 98.5 & Janet Snyder are excited to celebrate Carmaletta Zandi as today’s Women Who Move the City Wednesday Honoree! Carmaletta has dedicated over fourteen years to the community as the Founder of the Morlock Foundation, Inc. The foundation’s mission is to improve quality of life, specifically focusing on those suffering from traumatic experiences. Services provided by the office located in Buffalo include a food pantry, work with foster children who have aged out of the system, support for foster parents and lastly, Save the Family, a program that offers support to families that suffer from the traumas that come with disease or disability.   • Big and Little Books & Breakfast

    Bank of America presented a $16,000 check at the Books & Breakfast event on Saturday, May 14th for our Bigs & Littles. The funds donated by Bank of America will provide more children the opportunity to be matched with a mentor through BBBSEC’s Community Based Mentoring (CBM) program. In addition to the funds donated, a team of twelve Bank of America employees distributed books collected during a drive held in April and early May to our Littles. The group also volunteered to serve breakfast and help with activities. Over 50 Big Brothers Big Sisters matches enjoyed the pancake breakfast, and book donation. Additionally, tips and tidbits of information about healthy breakfast choices were on each table. The children completed a puzzle based on this information…

    Lasting Legacy of Friendship Big Sister Continues to Support Agency After Passing Big Brothers Big Sisters of Erie, Niagara and the Southern Tier recently celebrated a thoughtful legacy gift made by long-time Big Sister, Janet McMahon, who recently passed away. Janet made one more gift to the Big Brothers Big Sisters program to honor her lifetime commitment to helping children reach their full potential.
