This summer 34 Little Brothers & Little Sisters attended Tim Horton Children’s Camp Kentahaten in Campbellsville, Kentucky. For almost all of the kids, this 10 day camp was their first time traveling out of state and participating in an array of amazing outdoor activities. Just imagine the fun and memories made in over a week of ropes courses, kayaking, swimming, disc golf and beach volleyball. In addition to the activities, the kids come back excited about the relationships created with their camp counselors and the new friends they have made from around the country! The funds to provide this wonderful experience are raised through year round events coordinated by the Tim Horton Children’s Foundation, local store owners & of course, the patrons who support their efforts. A BIG thanks to all for making this incredible opportunity possible year after year!!

Lawley hosted 10 of our Little Brothers and Little Sisters at the Buffalo Club where they spent a few hours bowling. Following the games, Littles enjoyed some dinner and finished the evening by frosting holiday cookies with their new friends. Thank you to everyone that made the evening so memorable and we hope to see you again next year!

United Way Day of Caring
Every year, the United Way of Buffalo & Erie County holds a “Day of Caring” when corporate partners pick a project from a United Way affiliate and volunteer with that organization for one day. Throughout the morning, each match played Beach Bingo, Shoe Scramble, participated in a balloon race and spent their time enjoying the nice weather and each other’s company. Bigs and Littles were even able to create beaded friendship bracelets and exchanged them at the end of the…

Women Who Move the City Wednesday-Congrats Susan Gastle!
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Erie County is honored to celebrate Susan Gastle as this week’s featured Women Who Move the City Wednesday (WWMTC) Honoree! This summer, Susan will be celebrating 10 years of friendship with her Little Brother, Josh, through Big Brothers Big Sisters of Erie County. Susan’s role as a Big Sister is unique since typically BBBSEC matches Big Sisters with Little Sisters. However, due to a shortage of Big Brothers, boys under the age of 10 can be matched with a Big Sister. Susan gladly took on this role and has been an amazing Big Sister to Josh, who was just 6 years old when they met. Over the years, they have enjoyed trying new foods, attended numerous local events and participated in agency sponsored…
