A Sweet Friendship: Fowler’s & Big Brothers Big Sisters!

factory-tour3BBBS of Erie County has been selected as this year’s charity recipients of a portion of the proceeds of Fowler’s Factory Tour, taking place on Saturday, October 8th and Monday, October 10th!

Advance sale tickets are $3 each and can be purchased by clicking here.  Tickets purchased on the day of the tour are $5 and are also available at the factory.

Self-guided tours of the factory begin hourly from 9:00 am – Noon and 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm. Guests will have a behind-the-scenes glimpse of how Fowler’s famous sponge candy and other sweet treats are made. There will be delicious samples and helpful folks to answer questions about the candy making process! The factory, located at 100 River Rock Drive in Buffalo, is right across the street from BBBSEC’s main office!

This is the 14th factory tour Fowler’s has hosted, and to date the company has donated approximately $25,000 to local charities from the tours’ proceeds.

  • Upgrade to BBBSEC’s Technology

    Big Brothers Big Sisters of Erie County (BBBSEC) received a grant of $37,950 from the Margaret L. Wendt Foundation to upgrade the organization’s outdated technology. Professional case management is critical to creating safe and long-lasting mentoring relationships.     For Immediate Release Buffalo, N.Y. – The local mentoring agency known as Be-A-Friend Program, Inc. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Erie County for the last 45+ years is growing and has changed its name to reflect the new service area approved by Big Brothers Big Sisters of America (BBBSA). The agency will now be known as Big Brothers Big Sisters of Erie, Niagara and the Southern Tier. BBBSA has designated the Southern Tier service area to include Cattaraugus and Chautauqua counties.     As part of National Mentoring Month, Big Brothers Big Sisters participated in Take Your Little to Work Day.This day was a chance for our Littles to experience the typical workday for their Big and learn more about their career.
