Celebrating Native American Heritage Month

Native American Heritage Month Resources

November is Native American Heritage Month, a time to honor the rich histories, traditions, and contributions of Indigenous peoples. In New York State, we recognize eight federally acknowledged tribes, many of whom belong to the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, also known as the “People of the Longhouse.” Their symbol, the Hiawatha Belt, embodies a legacy of peace among five of the six nations.

From the invention of lacrosse to place names like Manhattan, Indigenous cultures have left an enduring mark on our land and history.

Discover local exhibits and virtual resources to deepen your and your Littles understanding and appreciation of Native American heritage this month!

Bigs and Littles Welcome Fall at the Annual Harvest Festival

Our Bigs and Littles gathered to enjoy a host of autumn-inspired activities. From creative arts & crafts to a lively game of Bingo, there was something for everyone to enjoy. The energy on the field was infectious, with kids and their mentors playing football and participating in classic field day games.
